Hi, I’m Bre! Your resident Religious Trauma Coach and Ex-Christian Cult Member
I’m SO freaking grateful you found my little corner of the internet!
When I left the Christian cult I grew up in for the last time over 10 years ago, I had no plans to ever ascribe to any faith.
I had spent pretty much my entire life (since I was 6 or 7) in that church & community, and all I knew about faith and God was what I had been brainwashed to believe – he was vindictive, unapproachable and to be feared.
I honestly don’t think I’d ever had my own personal spiritual connection to God that didn’t feel like I was just trying to walk the straight and narrow line that I had been told was “THE WAY”.
When my oldest kiddo was 12, we were living up north in Ontario, Canada for about 6 months. It was probably the worst winter of my life (and I hate winters generally lol), but I was so focused on my own depression that I didn’t see what was happening with my kiddo.
Something pretty catastrophic happened that jolted me out of my own head and made me realize that I needed to make some huge changes or I was going to continue perpetuating the SAME PATTERNS that I had been raised with.
One memory that is very clear and top of mind for me on this journey was after we had moved “back home” where both of our families lived. Kids and I were in therapy, we had regular family nights and I had begun truly healing so I could be a better human and mama.
One day, I was out driving with my oldest and I was listening to the book “Adult Children of Emotionally Immature Parents” and there was a story being told & she laughed a little and said “I would have said this was you not too long ago, but not anymore”.
In that moment I knew all the hard, grueling, sometimes what felt like thankless work I was putting into my healing was not only WORTH IT, but it was working. I had a tangible piece of evidence in that short interaction with her!
I was able to begin healing through a lot of inner personal work on my own, through therapy and life coaches and by being committed to doing the work even when it was SUPER uncomfortable. Sooo many times I’ve wondered if I’d ever “get there” while I was screaming into pillows and crying all the tears it is possible to have.
Now, this is MY experience and MY journey... Yours will look different.
But I promise you that it is NEVER too late to begin healing, growing & seeing the tangible effects it will have on your kids & family.
What I do here is NOT copy and paste, I’m not just going to advise you to take the same steps I took so you can get that result… But I WILL help you heal parts of yourself so you can heal your relationships & see the difference it can make in a truly tangible way, by taking YOUR unique journey to get there, through coaching.
I KNOW this is possible for you, because I’ve been able to do it and I want to help you do it in an even shorter period of time than I did. Working through the past religious/toxic Christianity blocks will enable you to lead a fuller life – strong relationships, thriving emotional and mental health – while enjoying the freedom you never got to have while growing up!

When I’m not sitting behind the computer, I enjoy trying out lattes of the season, binge-watching TV shows or movies and reading a good book or playing the piano.
The piano (or music in general) is my spirit animal and rose gold is my most favourite glittery object.
I currently live in Nova Scotia on the coast with my partner Graham and our 4 kids, bringing to life my dream to surround myself with chickens, goats and horses.

"I came to Bre because I was having so much trouble finding joy in sexual pleasure because of religious trauma. I was feeling shame and guilt about things like masturbation even tho I had already deconditioned from the belief that it was wrong. Bre guided me to find what was triggering these feelings and helped me figure out ways to slow down and connect to myself in a deeper way. Since our session things have been so different for me. The feelings of shame and guilt around pleasure have completely disappeared and I feel like I’m finally able to enjoy life to the fullest. I recommend working with Bre 100%! It will transform your life!"

"I’ve been working with Bre for a while now. She is such an amazing coach. She has got me moving. I was so stuck. I just knew I needed to do or wanted to do all these big things. And I just needed the practical things, the coaching and the how to, to get me in action.
I’ve worked with her one-on-one, which I highly recommend. That individual attention is second to none. I mean, she’s just so good. She really is. Bre can help you get moving and get you making some money and helping people, which is what we all want.
So if you’re on the fence, jump off and jump in because Bre is amazing and you will not regret working with her."

The Differences Between Coaching, Mentoring Counseling
Coaching is still a relatively new profession that synthesizes the best concepts from athletics, business, psychology, philosophy, and spirituality. It has become a valuable tool for many people around the world who are looking to achieve great things while maintaining balance in their lives. Coaching is earning followers among CEOs, entrepreneurs, professionals, people in career transition and others grappling with life issues. Coaching is no longer a nice to have skill set for every leader today, it’s a must have!
Coaching is not Psychotherapy
Professional coaching is the art and science of assisting healthy and effectively functioning individuals move forward and gain more meaningful and satisfying outcomes in their lives, careers, businesses and organizations. Coaching is not the practice of Psychotherapy.
The Difference Between Coaching and Mentoring
As can be seen above, there are many similarities between coaching and mentoring. Mentoring, particularly in its traditional sense, enables an individual to follow in the path of an older and wiser colleague who can pass on knowledge, experience and open doors to otherwise out-of-reach opportunities. Coaching on the other hand is not generally performed on the basis that the coach has direct experience of their client’s formal occupational role unless the coaching is specific and skills focused. Having said this, there are professionals offering their services under the name of mentoring who have no direct experience of their clients' role and others offering services under the name of coaching who do. It is essential to determine what your needs are and to ensure that the coach or mentor can supply you with the type and level of service you require.
Counseling focuses on the past exploring personal issues and problems through discussion in order to increase understanding or develop greater self-awareness.
N.B Coaching and counseling share similar core skills. However, professional counselors work with personal issues and the past in much greater depth than would be explored within a coaching context.
As a coach, it is not my job to dictate your beliefs or "lead" you in any specific direction. I am here to help guide you to YOUR truth, whatever that may be.
But in full disclosure, I am NOT a Christian and do not intend to practice evangelical Christianity in my own life, so if that is what you are looking for I may not be the correct coach for you.
I am not here to choose your beliefs for you, whatever you choose to pursue for your own spirituality is completely up to you. I am happy to help guide you to whatever beliefs (or not) that you end up with during our work together.
Hell yes! I am actually a member of the community myself and have a trans and non-binary kiddo so we are 100% supporters over here!
